题目：Free Boundary Minimal Surfaces in the unit ball

摘要：Since the seminal work of Fraser and Schoen on the extremal Steklov eigenvalue problem, there have been substantial interest in the study of free boundary minimal surfaces in the unit ball. In this talk, we will discuss some very recent results concerning the existence, compactness and rigidity of such objects. We will mention along the way some open questions in this area. Part of these are joint work with A. Fraser; and N. Kapouleas.

报告人简介：Martin Man-Chun Li，香港中文大学助理教授。2011年于美国Stanford大学获得博士学位，导师是Richard Schoen。先后在加拿大British Columbia大学和美国麻省理工学院从事博士后研究。其主要研究兴趣是几何分析与广义相对论，研究课题包括极小曲面，几何流以及几何自由边值问题。在自由边界极小曲面问题的存在正则性方面做出突出研究成果，论文发表在Comm. Pure. Appl. Math., Journal of Differential Geometry, Crelle’s Journal等一流数学期刊。
