报告摘要:We study the contact line behavior of the threshold dynamics method we developed in the previous work. Asymptotic analysis is performed to show that one obtains correct contact angle (Young’s angle) in the leading order by choosing different Gaussian kernel variance properly. We then propose an improved threshold dynamics method for wetting dynamics. The method is based on the minimization of the weighted interface area functional over an extended domain that includes the solid phase. Each interface area is approximated by the Lyapunov functional with a different Gaussian kernel. We show that the method is unconditionally stable

报告人简介:王筱平教授1984年在北京大学获学士学位,1986 年获硕士学位,1990年在美国Courant研究所获博士学位。先后在加州大学Berkeley, Colorado 大学,Princeton大学从事博士后或访问学者研究,1994年到香港科技大学工作。现为香港科技大学数学系讲座教授,应用数学和计算数学学术带头人。2007年冯康奖获得者。
