报告摘要：In this talk, we shall present a few analytic results concerning the molecular theory of nematic liquid crystals. Emphasis will be put on its close relations to the Landau-De Gennes theory and Oseen-Frank theory. For the sake of simplicity, we shall mainly restrict ourselves to the static case while the dynamics will only be discussed shortly.

报告人简介：刘豫宁，博士，上海纽约大学助理教授。2006年、2008年于武汉大学获学士、硕士学位，2012年于法国Institut Élie Cartan Nancy获博士学位；德国Universität Regensburg博士后。刘豫宁博士的研究兴趣为流体力学数学理论和控制论；学术成果发表在SIAM J. Math. Anal. 、J. Math. Fluid Mech.等。
